A little about us …

GFWC Floyd County Women’s Club consists of women focused to make a difference in our community, locally and worldwide. As members of the club, we are proud to belong to an international group of women volunteers with a historic legacy and continuing tradition of service.

Working together with other dedicated club members, our goals are to enhance and improve the lives of our family, community, and our fellow members. We provide abundant opportunities to enrich our personal lives through volunteer work and club fellowship, networking with GFWC partner organizations, and benefit from educational and inspirational programs, events and publications which provide community leadership opportunities.

2024 Floyd Arts and Crafts Festival

The 2024 Annual Floyd County Arts and Crafts Festival will be held on Saturday, October 5th, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This one-day event takes place on the campus of Floyd County High School in Floyd, Virginia. The GFWC Floyd County Woman’s Club, Inc. took over sponsorship of the festival in 1983. It has grown from a small Floyd County show that allowed local craftsmen to display their crafts and compete for ribbons to a large regional event. This year over 180 artisans and craftsmen will offer their handcrafted wares for sale including ceramics, quilts, hand-woven baskets, pottery, leather works, jewelry, paintings, photography, floral arrangements, dolls, wood working and many other uniquely crafted items.

Food concessions will be available in the high school cafeteria and food vendors are located outside. There is no admission charge or parking fee for any of the festival activities. Shuttle buses provide free transport to and from outlying parking areas at the Floyd County Courthouse parking lot and the Floyd County Recreation Park and additional parking areas to be announced closer to the festival.

Floyd County Arts & Crafts Festival profits go back to the community in various projects. GFWC Floyd County Women’s Club awards high school scholarships, donates to the Floyd County elementary schools, and the local fire department and rescue squads. Also, donations are made to the Women’s Resource Center, local public library, and many other worthwhile projects aimed at improving the quality of life for the people of our community.
